Review
Madeline really likes this series. I think because they have animals involved, she gets hooked, and then stays interested by the fact that it’s a group of girls we are reading about. In this first book, the plot is really centered around the missing puppy, but also has a message of appearances not always being what they seem.
This was an adorable little mystery that was easy enough for her to follow along, even if she couldn’t necessarily deduce things like she might if she were older. This makes me think it’ll be one we read often and I’ll watch her catch on to things she may have missed in previous reads, which is always a really fun thing about re-reads. In the following books, we see as much going on with the girls’ relationships as we do with the animals, which really fleshes out the series. We were gifted the first four books, but we have already added the next three in the series to our shelves with Madeline’s birthday money, so you know we are into this one!
